Volunteer

The Friends of Cannizaro Park is staffed entirely by volunteers, whether that be the Board of Trustees or the many people who give their time to maintain the park planting and taking care of the aviary. We depend upon a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer team of helpers, and we are always ready to welcome new volunteers, whether they are members of the Friends or not.

Park Volunteers

Volunteers bring many skills and a wide range of knowledge to assist our aims in maintaining and restoring the Park.

Organisational Volunteers

While many have relevant skills, energy and enthusiasm are often enough so we welcome those looking to expand their experience.

Become a friend

By becoming a Friend of Cannizaro Park, you enable us to do the work and maintenance needed to keep the park looking beautiful. The regular subscriptions we receive from The Friends of Cannizaro Park are the foundation for our annual expenditure, and ensure that the Park remains the special place that it is. And in gratitude, you are given advanced booking and/or discount for events in the park, and invitations to member-only events.

Donate a Bench

We are often asked if it is possible to commemorate a loved one by donating a bench to Cannizaro Park.

The Friends of Cannizaro Park have no role in decision making about benches, this is controlled by the Park’s owner, Merton Council. However, in some circumstances we might be able to help. Please click below for more information.

Donate a Tree

If you would like to donate one of the trees we plant each year, we can commemorate a loved one on the tree’s label.

All trees are agreed with Merton Council and are selected for their character or their habit, along with size, rarity, and suitability for position and soil type.

Donate a Rhododendron

Cannizaro Park is renowned for its rhododendrons and camellias in Lady Jane’s Wood, planted in the early 20th century. Almost one hundred years later, these specimens are reaching the end of their life and a programme of replacement is planned.
